A disappointed Pakistani Christian's Open Letter to Muslim Pakistanis

Pak Tribune ran an open letter of a disappointed Pakistani Christian about his torturous existence in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan...

Dear Pakistani Muslims,

Pakistan has been hell for my family and me.

Yes, we get Christmas and have a few churches here and there and attend the same schools as the rest of you, but life as Christian minorities has been torture for us.

I had to carpool in a public van to a convent school that had the richest and most influential of Pakistani Muslims in attendance. I shared class rooms with the most spoilt and unforgiving spawn of business tycoons, politicians, smugglers and architects who called me a “karanti”.

A karanti is a derogatory, slang term for dark Christians, because of course being born as a “darkie” in Pakistan automatically makes you ugly and unimportant with horrible marriage prospects – if any at all. They also degraded my father because he could not afford to drive me to school in a tinted, bullet proof Land Cruiser.

My father’s ‘shameful’ salary as an accounts teacher was not substantial enough for us to mingle with the creme de la creme of Defense; a dingy apartment in Nazimabad and a sputtering motor bike was all we could afford.

Many of the Muslim kids refused to share food with me, nor would they take a bite or sip from anything I may have consumed. I have had girls tell me point blank that their parents have instructed them never to sit and eat with people of other faiths because it’s haraam (forbidden). I will tell you what’s haraam; teaching your children to hate instead of love…that’s what’s haraam.

I will never forget an incident in school during a physical education class when, as I was passing the volley ball to a Muslim girl, her eyes suddenly shot daggers at me and she screeched:

Why do you wear that cross with an idol on it?

“This is my prophet…Jesus”, I said in a hoarse whisper because mother had always told me never to argue with people about religion.

“Just like you wear that Allah around your neck, I wear the cross.”

“Idol worshipping is haraam, and the Prophet hated idol worshippers. You are a kafir (disbeliever)”

The word kafir has resonated within me forever. I was marked, stamped and stained for life as if a member of the kachra class in India.

Gradually, my cousins, aunts and uncles began migrating. My father was offered a sponsorship visa but he refused, saying his duty was to serve and protect Pakistan no matter how many Christians were killed, executed for false blasphemy cases, paraded naked in village streets and discriminated against in every way.

My mother and I begged him to reconsider.

We asked him to think about the worsening situation of fanaticism in the country and what it could mean for us one day, however he was resilient in his patriotic thinking, putting his service into educating Pakistani children before anything else -even his own family.
I have always felt emotionally and mentally restricted in this country, unable to voice an opinion on anything remotely related to politics or religion, while many of my cousins and relatives continue to live freely in the West.

What I find strange is that I have done my Islamic research because I wanted to know the reason behind the rising hatred toward anyone remotely non-Muslim, and contrary to popular belief Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) was generous and kind to members of various faiths. It is after reading much of his work that I have concluded that it is not Islam that is the problem at all, it is the wretched people who claim to be Muslims but have hatred, racism and religious stigma engrained in their core.

No matter how many Taseers are born, there will always be a Mumtaz Qadri in almost every strata of Pakistani society ready to kill, and many will defend this action even at the highest political levels.
So, my dear Pakistan, tell me – where shall I go?

Is it fair that we are practicing our religion in a phobic way? Is it fair that I no longer wear my cross because someone may take offence to it?

Jinnah wanted to create a state that would encourage freedom of religion. Today, not only have you all failed Jinnah but you have taken a religion of peace and manipulated it to terrorise us. We cannot be silenced for long.

As Abraham Lincoln said:

If by the mere force of numbers a majority should deprive a minority of any clearly written constitutional right, it might, in a moral point of view, justify a revolution.

My brother I hope you and your family are safe.
My advice to you would be to leave Pakistan with your family and move. Remember everything can be replaced apart from your life and health. Pakistan has many problems as you well know. Some of the religious bigots preaching in pakistan allow Muslim on Muslim murders. Those people will not care a jot about you. I understand your sentiment about wanting to serve the country. Remember you could still serve the people from outside the borders too. It makes your service no less valid. I'm sure you know there are Muslims in Pakistan who would give the shirts of their backs if you asked, unfortunately in Pakistan the Muslims have declined in their faith and it looks like it will get worse before it gets better!

The only way to the difference is placement of the word in the sentence.

The tafseer [ explanation] book that I have since forever, when I was a student and still have with me here say match my explanation …. and All My Teachers who taught me the meaning of that Aya said the same .

the explanation to that word is :

Lam when it comes before a word … becomes, negetive for a while … example … * girls who never menstruated yet

Lan ….when it comes before a word … the word becomes, negitive for ever … example … * girls who will never menstruated *

So as you can see … in 55 / 74 … it says lam yatmothonah which it clearly explains it with out any doubt …

The Translation book I bought here in the US and authored by Professor Syed Ahmad American Muslim. He really tried to soften the blow [ and in so many parts of Quran too ] by explain it differently ….

He translated that Aya like this :

* [ Horun] [ beautiful virgins ] whom no man or Jinn has ever before touched *

Now … touched is in Arabic is * lamsa * where do you see the word Lams in that Aya ??? … no where !!!.. he did even try to translate the actual word .

He was trying to give it a softer, more PG rating …. but the truth is …[ I hope you are interested in the truth] …. the meaning of the actual word, in that Aya is *women menstruating*

Rzq, how can you say something so reasonable and well thought out as this, and STILL want to belong to islam?

Don't get the idea I have a "holier than thou" attitude...on the contrary, I am a big old hypocrite and far, far, far from a decent human being.
I guess you could call me a "maverick" when it comes to religion.
But I do TRY and apply the Golden Rule...and, yes, it is impossible...but I TRY.
I won't shit on anyone intentionally, and I don't want anyone to shit on me...
and by and large, this works.

But I know a bunch of shit when I see it, and I can't fathom how anyone would want to be grouped in with islam.
THINK, man...you obviously have a brain in that skull of your's...and honestly...really and truly, even if you WANTED to change islam, how realistic is that?
The only way I can see it change, is if it completely self destructs from within.

As regards your post to Shahid-kafir, I am to inform you that no Hindu considers Allah to be different from Bhagwan; but we do not think Koran is authored by Allah. Bhagwan is merciful and kind to all, believers non-believers alike.

Pakistanis are all descendants of nincompoops who were converted as Muslim by force/coercion. So, we have very little worry for them. We will revert them back to their ancestral way whenever we are pleased to do so.

You do not need weapons like muslims to convert these misled people , you need enlightenment to make them see their cultural heritage , some of which is still there in Pakistan like Harrappa and Mohenjadaro , or the various hindu and budhist sites and the 5,000 years of common shared history with India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal and SriLanka when great sages ,budhist scholars freely traversed the length and breadth of this subcontinent spreading education, freethinking,building universities and schools of secular learning. It is not India that is doing the sabre-rattling but pakis. These dumb pakis got thrashed everytime they attacked India since 1947. Remember Pakistan broke into two in 1971 when Bangladesh was born. It is not far away it will break again when Baluchistan secedes from the present Pakistan, not to speak of the NWF pashtoon tribals have loyalties in Afghanistan. Pakistan is already crumbling with the weight of its misdeed , poor state of economy , endless ethnic turmoils, unrests engendered by the islamic fundamentalists, etc. They are a failed state . Jinnah's two nation theory has flopped miserably. Pakis have nothing honorable to show. They are with a begging bowl looking upto the USA to sustain their finances. What threats these nuts can pose to a country with the fifth largest GDP in the world and growing at present at 6.9% ,while it was about 9% a couple of years back ? India's industrial sector ,service sector and infrastructure is growing and attracting FDI. Who would invest in a backward country run by mullah-military collusion with a lot of political instabilty and violence and unrest ? Rzq, you cannot compare a free and democratic country like India with a banana republic like Pakistan that lives off alms given by the west and Saudi Arabia.

Army corruption vk Singh chief of staff is embroiled in it, government looses 280+ billion USD on mineral and mining licences, billions more lost on telecoms licences.
However even with all of that India is doing well and I'm genuinely pleased for them

I think that what is needed is for MORE Christians to take a stand ,and not to run away. These words from Jesus I think fit the situation ,and may help you at least see where I am coming from. Matthew 9:12

Muslims are spiritually sick ,and are in need of the Gospel ,you can't share the Gospel with someone you are running from. Now I certainly don't think it's wise to put oneself in danger over mere patriotism as seems to be the case when reading the above letter ,but someone's eternal salvation is certainly worth the risk. I would do it myself if I could. I don't have a healthy body ,so I can't go out to the people who need a "doctor" ,but I do what I can to spread the Gospel of Jesus through other mediums. Some things are worth dying for ,and I think that the souls of others are certainly in this category. God loves EVERYONE ,and is not will that ANY should perish ,but have the eternal life that He offers freely.

So what if 20 hours elec is not on. If the people have not come out then they are coping. maybe things have to get worse still!! Maybe then the one functioning institution in that thus far failed state can step in. Break the feudal systems back and maybe start a meritocracy!

What did you mean to say by that? Pakistan has no honest leader? Actually, Pakistan is a dishonest society, honest leader can never grow here. What happened to Rinkel Kumari a few days back? She was raped by a Muslim goon, and now all Muslims including Pakistani Supreme court say that she has been converted to Islam and can not go back to her Hindu father. The Great Commission is something that every Christian should strive to follow. And it tells us to preach the Gospel to "every living creature"(of course this only really means to all mankind). Not all Muslims are snakes like you claim. I personally am friends with several ,and my neurologist(he is quite compassionate ,and helps treat one of the worst chronic pain diseases in existence ,which I myself have) is one as well. Also the spreading the Gospel has never been easy ,and has led to extensive martyrdom. I do what I can to reach who I can,but if no one is reaching Muslims in person ,it's not going to be nearly as effective. Even you would have to admit that if more Muslims were to accept the Gospel ,then a lot of these problems would be lessened. Of course to reach Muslims in this way is a personal decision for each and every Christian ,but I think that things could be on their way to getting better if there was more of an outreach to Muslims with the Gospel.

This letter written by a disillusioned Pakistani christian gives us some insight into the hell like existence, not life, the non- muslims in Pakistan are having. Not only christians, other minority religious groups like hindus, sikhs etc. are also living like this christian fellow, I am sure. It is no wonder that their number in Pakistan is day by day dwindling. In 1947 when partition took place, the percentage of hindus in Pakistan was a little above 10%. Now nobody knows for sure how many hindus remain there. A safe calculation says it is less than 1%. In any welfare state in the world, minorities will be well protected and their population will not diminish. Only in muslim countries, this happens. Why? Most of these countries are having turmoil and chaos and are strife ridden and far from being welfare states. How long you can live as a second class or third class citizen in a country? After some time you will lose even your self respect and you will think of towing the mainstream to get rid of your wretched life. This is what happens not only in Pakistan, in all hell holes known as Islamic countries. Some times I think Dr. Ali Sina's medicine is the best suited for these rascals. Give the same treatment to these beasts in all non- muslim countries. For that first of all, Islam should be stripped of the religion label. It is not a religion. A vile, deadly cult only. These heartless, beastly, inhuman creatures should be segregated and discriminated against. When these savages are at a receiving end only, they will learn anything. The whole world should shun these rascals. That is the only medicine. I hope more and more people will wake up to this reality in time and that is the end of these scum bags.

Why you are getting so offended, my boy? No use making faces when facts are stated, you dimwit. It is a fact that a bully knows only one language, that of bullying. After sometime, you will start to beget what you have been giving. Sometimes, it will be more than what you gave. That is what happened in Gujarat in 2002. That is a historical fact, almost certain. I haven't read anything of the sort you wrote in any democratic country. If at all it happened, it would be stray incidents and I am sure the guilty would have been punished. In muslim countries only, the persecutions and the atrocities towards non- muslims go unreported and unnoticed. But the fact is, muslims, the scum of any society, ask for such treatment from the non- muslims by their sheer behavior based on hatred towards all non- muslims. It is then no big deal that somewhere they get it back in the same measure. In India anyway, it has started. Muslims will not get it away as in the past. Any misdemeanor on their side will be returned in the same coin. In the modern age, you bullying muslims have to shed your hate psychology.
