Citing Quran 75:4, Muslims claim that the Quran talked about uniqueness of fingerprints 14 centuries ago. Another Quranic miracle, and another proof that Quran is divine. But this verse does not talk about "fingerprints" at all, let alone its uniqueness. Moreover, usage of fingerprints for signature and identification purposes goes thousands of years before Islam.
Ever since kaffir quack-scientist Maurice Bucaille (1920–98) of France (actually medical doctor of the Saudi royal family) published his book, The Bible, The Quran and Science, to demonstrate that the Quran is scientific, Bible not, numerous Muslim quack-scientists, led by Zakir Naik and Harun Yahya, have discovered numerous scientific miracles in the Quran and continue to so. We are aware of the big-time Quranic sciences, namely embryology, big-bang theory, cosmology and many more.
Another miracle that has been making rounds, although failed to attract major attention, is the mention of uniqueness of the “fingerprints” in the Quran. A few days ago (not the first time), I received following query from a non-Muslim reader:

General Science Fingerprints
‘Does man think that We Cannot assemble his bones? Nay, We are able to put Together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers.’ [Quran 75:3–4]Unbelievers argued regarding resurrection taking place after bones of dead people have disintegrated in the earth and how each individual would be identified on the Day of Judgement. Almighty Allah answers that He can not only assemble our bones, but can also reconstruct perfectly our very fingertips.
According to Muslims, the second verse 75:4—'Nay, We are able to put Together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers'—was talking about uniqueness of fingerprints some 14 centuries ago.
We are all aware of the immense value fingerprints have added to our civilization. Concerning modern development of fingerprint usage, German anatomist Johann Christoph Andreas Mayer (1747–1801) recognized in 1788 that fingerprints are unique to each individual, while English magistrate Sir William James Herschel (1833–1918) initiated fingerprinting in British India in 1858. Since then, fingerprinting has been used extensively as signatures in legal documents to this day around the world. While, with increasing literacy, signatures are replacing fingerprints in documents, the usage of fingerprinting continues to diversify and become increasingly important in criminal investigation, biometric identification, determination of drug abuse, and creating databases etc.
The Quranic miracle-hunting Muslims say that nobody knew about uniqueness of fingerprints until the 18th century. How could the Quran, revealed 1,400 years ago, be talking about such a valuable tool to humanity? So wonder stunned Muslims: 'Surely it could have been none other than the Creator Himself (who authored the Quran)!'
Thus, we have another scientific miracle in the Quran, which would go on to enrich humanity greatly, but only after its discovery by kafir scientists, like all other miraculous Quranic sciences. Let me now address a point Harun Yahya made about fingerprints: 'Fingerprints attain their final shape before birth and remain the same for a lifetime unless a permanent scar appears.'
Contrary to Yahya’s assertion, fingerprints are, in fact, not so stable in children until the age of puberty, according to 1995 findings by researchers at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (see, Ashbaugh DR. (1991) "Ridgeology", Journal of Forensic Identification Vol 41:1).
Nonetheless, the importance of fingerprints as an identity marker of individuals is immense. Now the question that must be asked is:
Does Quran 75:4 truly talk about fingerprints and its uniqueness?
Let me cite a number of translations of Quran 75:3–4:
Yusuf Ali: Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very “tips of his fingers”.
Pickthal: Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very “fingers”!
Shakir: Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? Yea! We are able to make complete his very “fingertips”.
Khalifa: Does the human being think that we will not reconstruct his bones? Yes indeed; we are able to reconstruct his “fingertip”.
Ahmed Ali: Does man think We shall not put his bones together? Surely We are able to reform even his “fingertips”.
As to background of these verses, the idolaters of Mecca—who had no idea of the Islamic concept of Resurrection, i.e. every humans would rise in perfect size and shape on the Judgment Day to answer questions to God/Allah—questioned Muhammad’s idea of resurrection of the dead and rotten. How could the scattered bones of the dead be put together to bring every dead individual to life, they asked? And, these two verses was Allah’s counter to such question of the Polytheists.
Different translations listed above gives a somewhat different rendering: it is talking about Allah’s ability to reassemble either the “fingertips” or the “fingers”.
Thus, these verses talk about fingertips or fingers, not fingerprints—the latter being unique to individuals. So, we once again see the opium-addicted hypnotic nature of Quranic miracle hunting Muslims, who are quick to discover ‘Big Bang’ from the letter ‘B’ in the Quran.
Terminology

The Arabic word ‘banan’ has been rendered as fingertips or fingers in this verse. According to Arabic scholar Ibn Mandhour ‘banan’ in Arabic stands for:

Tip of the finger of hands and feet (banana means whole finger);

While, according to scholar Khortobi: ‘banan’ means “fingers”, 'banana' being its singular form.
Thus, ‘banan’ may mean:

Now let me now make a couple of conclusions:

The translations of this verse suggest that it is not talking about “fingerprints” at all, but about “fingertips” or “fingers” (Fingerprints are a different thing from fingertips/fingers). If we take into consideration of other meanings of the word ‘banan’, it may also be talking about “finger-joints”.

What I think about this verse is that it talks about Allah’s ability of assembling scattered “bones” of the dead, not at all about “skin”, which contain fingerprints.
My feeling is that, while revealing this verse, Allah (aka Muhammad) had meant finger-joints, that is, Allah ability to assembling finger-joints—meaning joining finger-bones in right order.
Whatever the meaning, this verse does not talk about fingerprints at all, except to blindfolded Quranic miracle hunters. ‘Banan’ cannot mean “fingerprint”. None of the translators says so. Neither does any tafsirist or interpreters of the Quran as I include four tafsirs below.
1. Maududi tafsir:
That is, ‘Not to speak of building up your skeleton once again by gathering together the major bones? We are able to make whole the most delicate parts of your body, even your finger tips, as they used to be before.’
2. Ibn Abbâs tafsir:
(Yea, verily) I am capable of doing so. (Yea, We are able to restore his very fingers!) We are able to gather his fingers, such that his palm becomes like the hoof of a camel or beasts. He says: We are able to make his hand look like the hoof of a camel, so how is it that We cannot restore his bones?
3. Jalalyn tafsir:
Yes, indeed!, We shall assemble them. We are able, in addition to assembling them, to reshape [even] his fingers, that is to say, to restore their bones just as they had been, despite their smallness: so how much more so [are We able to restore] the larger ones!
4. Ibn Kathir tafsir:
…[the verse means] ‘does man think that We will not gather his bones Surely, We will gather them and We are quite able to put together his fingertips. This means Our power is suitable to gather (and recreate) them, and if We wished We could surely resurrect him with more than what he originally had. We could make his Banan, which are the tips of his fingers, all equal (in length).’
Quran not the first to tell ‘fingerprints are unique’
Now let us now agree that this verse truly talk about “fingerprints”, however impossible it may.
But was Quran the first to tell us about uniqueness of fingerprints? No, it is not.
Use of fingerprints to protect documents against forgery goes back to Babylonia some 2,500 years before Islam (i.e. 20th-19th century BCE), when parties to legal contracts impressed their fingerprints into the clay-tablets on which contracts had been written. Chinese officials impressed their fingerprints in clay-seals to seal official documents as early as the third century BCE, a practice that continued in China as they discovered paper and started using it for writing legal documents. Arab Muslim merchant Abu Zayd Hasan, while visiting China before 851 CE, witnessed Chinese merchants using fingerprints to authenticate loans.
Even forensic use of fingerprints, such as to keep records of criminals, goes back thousands of years before Islam. During Babylonian king Hammurabi (1792–1750 BCE), law-officials fingerprinted arrested criminals; in China, handprints were used as evidence in a trial for theft c. 300 CE. In 650 CE, the Chinese historian Kia Kung-Yen remarked that fingerprints could be used as a means of authentication. While Persian physician Rashid-al-Din Hamadani (1247–1318), referring to Chinese practice, wrote in his Jami al-Tawarikh:
"Experience shows that no two individuals have fingers exactly alike."
Conclusion
The Quranic verse 75:4 does not talk about “fingerprints” or its uniqueness at all. Moreover, humanity has known and used the uniqueness of fingerprints for identification purposes since ages before the coming of Islam.

Allah, actually Satan, knows that Muslims will be cutting off lots and lots of fingertips. And in case some infidels have any doubts, allow me to quote a bit from Satan's Bible, sometimes called the Qur'an.
Quote: "I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers. Smite ye above their necks and smite all their FINGERTIPS off them," (Sura 8 Verse 12).
So despite the fact that many "fingertips" will be severed from the body and possibly lost, Allah, actually Satan, "will be able to find the fingertips and restore them, and put them back on the body." Can you now understand? In other words, there will be no problem for Satan, sometimes called Allah.
There is something else that infidels must be aware about. Muslims are the biggest liars in the world. Muslims will go so far as to say that "Islam is the religion of peace." Isn't that a gasser?
Also, Muslims are very good at twisting words. When you give them the finger, they interpret that act as your giving them the "fingerprints."

Great to see one form of religious nuttiness at odds with another.
You give the impression that criticism of Islam is irrational and based on theological differences best understood by people whose cheese might be stacked a bit high for their cracker... if you know what I mean.
It would seem that the issue is not that Muslims might kill and die for their god... they're just killing and dying for the wrong god.
In my opinion, you trivialize this discussion and affect the credibility of this website in a negative way.

Then it will prostrate itself again but this prostration will not be accepted. The sun then says, "My Lord, where do You command me to rise, from where I set or from where I rose?" Allah will order the sun to return whence it has come and so the sun will rise in the west. And that is the interpretation of the statement of Allah in the Qur'an.'"
Qur'an 36:38 "The sun keeps revolving in its orbit at the dispensation of the All-Knowing. And the Moon, We have measured for her mansions till she returns like dried date stalks. It is not permitted for the Sun to overtake the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day. Each (just) swims along, floating in (its own) orbit as a Sign as in a race. And we made similar vessels [chariots] for them to ride. But we could have drowned them if we pleased."

The problem with the fingerprints claim is that fingerprints reliability is less as opposed to iris scanning. So it is easily deduced that if the claim is also true, then Quran also did not suggest the best identification method which contradicts it being metaphysical.

Yet Muslims consider them (Pre-Islamic Arabians) Jahils from Jahiliya. To me the people who asked this question were truely rationale and thoughtfull people. In Arabia Jahiliya started only after the advent of Islam. Only muslims can believe in crap like hell, heaven and resurrection without thinking.

A discovery made by the author first time in history, unknown to the non-Muslim world and Muslims world alike. The book under review is the nucleus of author's fourteen volumes written in English and an equal number in Urdu. According to the author, it has become obvious beyond any doubt that no protection is possible to supply the entire population with any means of protection: against the atomic radiations. So also the atomic war appears inevitable despite every assurance. The doomed mankind, doomed to a painful and disgraceful end is only ostriching. It is not a lay man's opinion nor could it be cast a side just as an alarmist view. Rather the majority of the atomic scientists all over the world have by and by come to this very conclusion. How the Quran should omit the mention of an agent capable of annihilating the entire life on earth, human, and vegetation, rendering the earth incapable of appearance and growth of life for millions of years.
The warning of the Quran comprises the brief, indeed very brief chapter called Al-Homaza, containing about thirty-six words. In this warning the Quran has mentioned the three main characteristics of this modern science-guided Baconian culture of atomism as the basic logical and scientific cause of the appearance of atomic hell. The three main characteristics are slander (propaganda) accumulation f wealth and counting it, and a belief in the eternity of the wealth thus accumulated. It is hard for anyone to miss these characteristics as the manifest feature of this present age. Nor any student of the social, economical, cultural and scientific evolution of this modern age could easily miss the link between the three characteristics pointed out by the Quran and the appearance of the atomic bomb and its associates unitedly called by the Quran as Hotama, that is the atomic hell. Quran has used the term Hotama. Hotama is a sort of a hell in the other world, with features different and distinguished from the rest of the hells existing there. The atomic hell of this present world (as is named even by the scientists themselves) is the replica of the Hotama of the next world, just as the ordinary chemical fire serves as the reminiscence of the ordinary hell of the next hell of the next world. The three habits which the Quran has given out for the punishment in the hell of Hotama are obviously those responsible for the appearance of atomic bomb.
Fourteen centuries ago the production of the revival of the 500 B.C. Democratic philosophy of Atomism in the form of the modern philosophy of Baconian atomism (something apparently improbable at that time,) and the knowledge that of the tree main characteristics of the modern science-guided progressive culture of Baconian atomism as are mentioned above, and above all this the scientific characterization of the atomic fire, rather the nuclear fire, in terms which distinguish the nuclear fire from the chemical fire as is to be found in Quran's chapter under discussion, are the facts known to no one but God himself. Here is then an argument irrefutable for the divine original of the Quran. Undeniable even by the scientists. No philosopher or wise man of this modern age, not even Bertrand Russel, has ever hinted upon the root-causes of the appearance of the atomic hell, namely, the slander, wealth accumulation and the belief in the eternity of this wealth. The credit of this discovery goes to the Quran. The philosophers on the other hand have been making their futile appeals to this mankind to forget their quarrels in order to avoid the atomic ruin. Now proportional to the increase in their knowledge of the havoc of the atomic bombs, the pitch of the cry of the humanity against the atomic bombs is on the rise, but the circumstances clearly show as if this humanity is doomed to atomic annihilation. Bertrand Russel in his letter to author in 1964 was not a miss when he declared the end of this humanity in the atomic bomb. No power on earth can save this world from the nuclear doom. This warning and the guidance therein by the Quran appears to be the only hope for the mankind to escape the painful and disgraceful end. This indeed figures as the Noah's Ark in this fiery deluge of this present world. The study of the subject treated in this book under review clearly reveals that the true appreciation of the scientific side of the subject is for a physicist of the caliber of Einstein, while the Quranic side is reserved for a commentator of the level of Razi. Yet it appears something surprising that anyone with average understanding could apprehend the topic. The matter contained by the book both on the Quran's and science's side is so manifest that no need for either quotations of bibliography is felt. The subject appears as a challenge to the modern scientist in reference to Quran's general challenge to the human and the Jinn collectively to compose a chapter like the Quran.

How to escape the atomic doom? The philosophers of this modern age have failed to expose the real cause of the trouble. Their view has been limited to the quarrels and production. The study of this Baconian modern atomism reveals that it is a culture of science-guided process, systematic, ever-increasing, continuous and infinite progress, which is a means of wealth accumulation appearing as if this process will continue forever. Thus engrossment in wealth accumulation and a notion of the eternity of this process of wealth accumulation are the manifest characteristics of this particular culture. A study of the subject from Galileo's astronomy through Darwin's biology to Einstein's relativity, and from the railway engine to the hydrogen bomb reveals explicitly that the desire of wealth and worldly facilities have been the incentive. The greed of a stage that the accumulation of the wealth because the sole object of man's life, and wealth assume the form of a deity to be worshipped all over the world with a belief in its eternity The influence of faith gradually dwindled and the sense of religion almost vanished. Thus the root of the trouble is greed. Another feature of this culture is propaganda which has assumed the intellectualized form of slander and back-binding, in this age. And just as when these ingredients of dynamites combine, the result is explosive, when these three ingredients, namely, the propaganda, engrossment in wealth accumulation, and belief in the eternity of wealth combine, the result is atomic explosion. The atomic fire is the scientific philosophical and logical result of these three habits. To escape therefore the horrible atomic doom in the blazing fires of atomic hell, the eradication of these three habits is essential.

Before this story about fingertips, or fingerprints, Islam Watch complains about Muslim police not coming to the aid of non Muslims. These Muslim police were prohibited by Satan, sometimes called Allah, from helping infidels in trouble. The following suras taken from Satan's Bible, sometimes called the Qur'an, proves that the Muslim police couldn't help infidels because they had to comply with Satan, sometimes callled Allah. These police couldn't act like Christians or Jews. No way.
THESE MUSLIMS HAD TO PRACTICE THEIR RELIGION TO REMAIN GOOD MUSLIMS. Proof follows from Satan's Bible:
"Take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends," (Sura 5 Verse 61 and Sura 60 Verse 13). Now, can you understand why Muslims can't help infidels?
"Never be a helper to the disbeliever," (Sura 28 Verse 26). Am I opening your eyes? A Muslim would go to hell and not receive those 72 virgins if he helped an infidel.
"The unbelievers are the worst beasts in the eyes of Allah,"(Sura 8 Verse 55). Why do expect Muslims to help the "worst of beasts"? No way !!
Not only must Muslims refrain from helping infidels, they're supposed to go out of their way and kill infidels. Quote from Satan's Bible: "Kill the disbelievers wherever you find them,"(Sura 2 Verse 191). Do you see what I mean?
Going back to Satan's Bible, sometimes called the Qur'an, speaking about miracles. Forget it. Paedophile Muhammad was too busy playing with his many playmates in his private whorehouse.
