Magazine Office in Paris Firebombed by Offended Muslims for Publication on Upcoming Sharia on the Wing of Arab Spring.

E-mail Print PDF

As a contemporary European, Charb should know that Islam is no “joking” matter. When it comes to Islam, the Liberal West should know that spirit of Voltaire is dead, so is the Freedom of Expression.

charlie-hebdo-muhammad-cartoon

Voltaire (d. 1778), the Grand Old man of French Enlightenment, believed in "I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it." And his lifelong struggle to establish this right of individual human being led to the emergence of the Right of Freedom of Expression in the Liberal West. Today 233 years on, it seems to have all changed. Today they say: “I may disagree with what you have to say, and I have the right to claim your dead, if I do so.” Well, that’s what applies to issues relating to Islam in France, where the Muslim population is growing in leaps and bounds.

In the latest incident, Muslims firebombed the office of Charlie Hebdo, a weekly satirical magazine, in Paris.

And the fault of the magazine? It published its latest issue with a frontpage title “Sharia Hebdo” – in reference to the recent win of Islamists in Tunisia election, following the so-called Arab Spring, as well as new Libya’s new leaders declaration last month of Sharia, or Islamic legislation, to be the main source of law in post-Qaddafi Libya.

The frontpage also displayed a cartoon of a man, wearing white robe, turban and beard, saying: “100 lashes if you don't die laughing.” The magazine also mentions Muhammad as the guest editor of the issue.

When Muslims started violence to protest the publication of Prophet Muhammad’s cartoon by the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten in September 2005, Charlie Hebdo also reprinted Muhammad’s cartoons alongside other Western publications to express solidarity with Jyllands-Posten. In that incident, Muslims in France took the magazine to court on charges of "publicly abusing a group of people because of their religion."

Charb, director of the magazine, told APTN: "It was a joke where the topic was to imagine a world where Sharia would be applied."

"But since everyone tells us not to worry about Libya or Tunisia, we wanted to explain what would be a soft version of Sharia, a Sharia applied in a soft manner," added Charb.

As a contemporary European, Charb should know that Islam is no “joking” matter. When it comes to Islam, the Liberal West should know that spirit of Voltaire is dead, so is the Freedom of Expression.

Hitler, Stalin & Muhammad

well then, let's have an "Everyone Buy a Book Day"
My book, "Satan's Trinity: Hitler, Stalin & Muhammad, is available at http://satanstrinity.wordpress.com/ For the first time in history "HSM" appear together on a book cover. The idea behind the book is to make headway against the ludicrous idea that Muhammad should be conjoined with any religious leader/founder. This book uses the specific names of Hitler and Stalin to efficiently identify the nature of Muhammad and by extension Islam. It compares the personalities and approach of each man to such categories as; war, peace, sex, torture, slavery, women, their respective childhoods and deaths, the critical affects of geography and timing, each man’s anti-social and narcissistic personalities. http://www.youtube.com/results...artel&aq=f

"In the latest incident, Muslims firebombed the office of Charlie Hebdo, a weekly satirical magazine, in Paris."

I didn't know they had caught anyone for the crime.
Have they been convicted in a court of law?
Maybe you should study the saying " innocent until proven guilty"
maybe that Is expecting too much.

You omitted the response to the fire:
"Mohammed Moussaoui, president of the French Council for the Muslim Faith (CFCM), said he "firmly condemned" the arson attack if it proved criminal."

nothing like having free speach and blowing smoke from your arse, eh mr khan?

What smell like shit is indeed shit 99% of the time. It's not we are convicting some Muslims already. It has started with Dalil Boubakeur, head of the Great Mosque of Paris, and Mohammed Moussaoui, head of the French Council for the Muslim Faith. Read the linked news piece to see it.

French Council for the Muslim Faith (CFCM) statement is some improvement. that's what they are there to do. And there lies our hope of saving free of expression.

Hopefully it's not like Arafat's "Oslo Treaty" aka "Hudaiiyah Treaty" -- which Muslim organization and leaders have proved on so many occasion everywhere.

" innocent until proven guilty"

That's only good in legal court, not in the court of public opinion...Muslims have been running rampant around the world with their various murderous and destructive jihad...also Islams drive to killing free speech is well known and documented...'Thou shall say nothing negative about Islam, even if it is true'...
Doing that may cause you a 'painful doom' (that's Allah talk).

All the anti-jihadists, terrorism experts, anti-Islam talkative kuffar fall into that category...That's why you hate Spencer, Geller and the rest...You don't know them personally, you don't know that they are 'bad' people, you only know that they say and write negative comments about Islam...even if they are true...and that is good enough reason to kill them in the eyes of many of your brothers...Would you kill Spencer if you were close enough, or would you just beat him to a pulp? After all, there is no sharia penalty for killing a kuffar, especially a noisy one...Islam is not the religion of tolerance...Muslims, including yourself prove that every day...

" innocent until proven guilty"

When a muslim rapes a girl/woman, she has to have 4 eyewitnesses in order to get the rapist convicted, otherwise she will be condemned to be guilty. This is what is meant by innocent until proven guilty in islam.

that's called a lynch mob justice, duh is an advocate!

A lynch mob is several thousand foaming at the mouth Muslims attacking Christian Copts in Egypt, and regular Christians in Iraq and other places...And that's only a small fraction of Muslim mobs in action...

No, small boy, it's not a lynch mob liar, it's public opinion and every public has them...it is legal to form an opinion in the west...You have plenty of them yourself...It's not me advocating violence by asking you a question...it's your religion and your brothers who advocate violence based on the violence in Quran and hadith , something you never condemn....You seethe with hate of anyone who challenges Islamic dogma... Spencer gets death threats regularly from your brothers who hate him as much as you do for much the same reasons...Would you condemn them for threatening him? Islam has totally screwed up your mind, but you are not alone, there are over a billion just like you...Brains destroyed by Allah...What a waste...

"Would you condemn them for threatening him? "

Don't play dumb iiki...You know, or should know that there are a great deal more than threats going on...Muslims are killing Christians, beating them, burning their churches, and this did not start this morning, it's been going on for years periodically...Muslim brutality is so bad in Iraq that two thirds of the Christians have left...These attacks are easily verified by numerous news accounts...In Egypt, the Copts dared to protest this treatment by Muslims, so the police/troops killed and brutalized the Christians...This is a whole lot more than threats so stop your lying...
Not only that iiki your moronic brothers who are acting in behalf of Allah, are killing each other a mile a minute...Muslims have killed more Muslims in Iraq than the American army...and all this killing is done to entertain Allah...I'm sure he wills it, he always does...Sweet huh...

Did Mohammed hold court, conduct enquiry by learned judges before he killed so many of his opponents?.
Are your Jihadists believing in it. What happened in Pakistan when the governor spoke against blasphemy laws? Did his killers give him the opportunity? DEVIL (ISLAM) QUOTING SCRIPTURES?

Please explain which country bombed Egypt into the stone age, and what resources are being taken, and why Christian Copts have to take the punishment...You liar...I asked you this question before, and you chose not to answer...What countries what resources?

I responded by quoting

where did I condone violence on Christians??? Liar!
Having lost the Iraq issue you now move to Egypt!
No country has bombed Egypt. My response is the same as above
"Egyptians have no option but to live together! Christians and Muslims. That is the only way forward for them! I hope they can do that peacefully and that the crazies on both sides take a back seat!

Iraq was not invaded for it's oil, if it was, the west would be getting free oil all along, but they are not, they purchase it at market prices and Iraq gets the money......You are simply misinformed, and a liar, and lots of those rapes and murders are Muslim on Muslim...Lets see you back up your numbers...regardless, war is hell and it was Saddam who brought calamity on his people......You still have not explained why Christians in Iraq and Egypt are punished for it, and you approve...Address that coward...

Here are the numbers pre war, just the oil for food programme
Unicef: 500,000 children (including sanctions, collateral effects of war). "[As of 1999] [c]hildren under 5 years of age are dying at more than twice the rate they were ten years ago."[9][41]
Former U.N. Humanitarian Coordinator in Iraq Denis Halliday: "Two hundred thirty-nine thousand children 5 years old and under" as of 1998.[42]
"probably ... 170,000 children", Project on Defense Alternatives, "The Wages of War", 20. October 2003[43]
350,000 excess deaths among children "even using conservative estimates", Slate Explainer, "Are 1 Million Children Dying in Iraq?", 9. October 2001.[44]
Economist Michael Spagat: "very likely to be [less than] than half a million children." He claims that these estimates are unable to isolate the effects of sanctions alone due to the lack of "anything resembling a controlled experiment".[45][45]

A September 14, 2007, estimate by Opinion Research Businss (ORB), an independent British polling agency, suggests that the total Iraqi violent death toll due to the Iraq War since the U.S.-led invasion is in excess of 1.2 million (1,220,580). Although higher than the 2006 Lancet estimate through June 2006, these results, which were based on a survey of 1,499 adults in Iraq from August 12–19, 2007, are more or less consistent with the figures that were published in the Lancet study.

I dare you to read it: Here are some good bits

"On several occasions our convoys came upon bodies that had been lying on the road, sometimes for weeks," said Marine Corps veteran Vincent
"When encountering these bodies standard procedure was to run over the corpses, sometimes even stopping and taking pictures, which was also standard practice when encountering the dead in Iraq,"

"Our rules of engagement stated that we should first fire warning shots into the ground in front of the car, then the engine block, and the windshield. That is if the car was even moving in the first place," he said. "Many times cars that actually had pulled off to the side of the road were also shot at."

War is hell isn't it...If the US wanted to kill civilians, it could have just turned the whole place into a sea of glass...Maybe your brothers using children and women as human shields the casualty rate would not have been so high

To begin with idiot boy, I was not in favor of the Iraq war, but I know who started it and why...The blame is strictly with Saddam...

When do you answer the question I have asked three times now...Why do the Christians in Iraq and Egypt have to be punished, and why do you condone their murders...You condone murder of innocent people and call me a bigot, I didn't condone the murders of anyone...Get thee from behind me Satan hypocrite...You are one evil little man...

The Quran glorifies and recomend violence against opponents - Muhammad himself used murder, mass murder, and a lot more. And Muhammad was/is the great idol in Islam - everybody should do like him.

Jesus gave a message of peace and reconciliation.
Mohammad twisted it and made it a vehicle of hatred and violence- most acts of terrorism in the world today are by Muslims. Most Muslims are killed by Muslims.
