"They (Christians) need to know that conquest is coming, that Egypt will be Islamic, and that they must pay jizya or emigrate," Morsi reportedly said.
According to the popular Egyptian website, El Bashayer, Muhammad Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood presidential candidate, just declared that he will "achieve the Islamic conquest (fath) of Egypt for the second time, and make all Christians convert to Islam, or else pay the jizya," the additional Islamic tax, or financial tribute, required of non-Muslims, or financial tribute.
In a brief report written by Samuel al-Ashay and published by El Bashayer on May 27, Morsi allegedly made these comments while speaking with a journalist at the headquarters of the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party, adding "We will not allow Ahmed Shafiq [his contending presidential candidate] or anyone else to impede our second Islamic conquest of Egypt."
After his interviewer pointed out that the first Muslim conquest of Egypt was "carried out at the hands of Amr bin al-As [in 641]," he asked Morsi, "Who will the second Islamic conqueror be?" Morsi, replied, "The second Muslim conqueror will be Muhammad Morsi," referring to himself, "and history will record it."
When asked what he thought about many Christian Copts coming out to vote for his secular opponent, Ahmed Shafiq, Morsi reportedly said, "They need to know that conquest is coming, and Egypt will be Islamic, and that they must pay jizya or emigrate."
If this interview is accurate, certainly Morsi would not be the first political Islamist in Egypt to say he wants to see the nation's Christians subjugated and made to pay jizya (see here for more examples).
However, considering that the English language media are currently reporting that Morsi is trying to woo Egypt's Christians and women to win more votes, it is difficult to imagine that he actually made those comments: one does not doubt that he favors the idea of a "second Islamic conquest" and the subjugation of Christians; one doubts that he would be so foolish as to reveal his mind now, publicly, and thereby jeopardize his chances of winning the presidency.
Then again, his remarks are reported in the context of a private meeting at the headquarters of the Brotherhood's political party. Perhaps Morsi thought he was speaking to a fellow Islamist who would not expose him? Perhaps he was frustrated at having to win Copts over and was "venting"? Stay tuned.

Very interesting information! The Turkish and the Lebanese are quite moderate then. But the research does not reflect clear picture as data for countries like India, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Saudi Arab which matter most, are not included/available.

If Hosni Mubarak was a tyrant then what is this man Muhammad Morsi who is a presidential candidate ? I think he is far worse than Mubarak. He is yet to be elected and he is mouthing filthy islam and filthy sharia - should he be elected he will definitely usher in some kind of 'islamic' rule that Taliban had in Afghanistan. He will destroy all ancient Egyptian artifacts, pyramids,etc just as taliban did in Afghanistan. Muslim brotherhood dreams of founding a caliphate, which was to start with Egypt. Finally they are going to get to power, and Morsi is simply expressing his desire to start the restitution of the caliphate, and warning the Christians of what's coming. Nothing inconsistent.

That shows the author's sense of civility only. Civilized people today can't even think that any human being today would utter such words. Yet, that's what Islam demands and too many Islamic leaders and imam's are on record, demanding the same. Well Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia, Maldives implements it-- where non-Muslims can't be citizens. Not their faults.
The report is true until a denial is offer by Morsi, although that itself can be taqiyah.

Q 9:29 is a verse that is complete in itself. It doesn't require any further reading as far as theology part is concerned. And 9:29 says is theology. What Muslim did is not necessarily theology, it can even be a violation of theology.
Just like the Quran aka theology advises you not to live in a kuffar country and commands you to make hijrat to an Islamic land, or to fight and kill the kafirs, whoever is near you -- but you don't that.

in 1930, Islam as a political force and military force was finished well over a decade ago. So your point is not really valid.
However we do know a decade and bit after 1930, what befell the Jews in western Europe by their Christian brethren.

My post above would make readers realize how Muslims treated the Jews of the Muslim world from the 620s to the 1930s. The barbarism Muhammad initiated against them never seem to have ceased, given the statistics of their demise from the lands Muslims occupied.

Haters can hate, that's all you are good for. Don't democracies demand certain qualifications for citizenship? In Israel only Jews can be true citizens. In Germany the German parliament states on its frontage that it is for "dem deutsche volk". All polities need s amoment of closure. Democacy means power from the people. But who are the people? This is NOT true. Muslims (the descendants of Arabs and Turks) comprise about 15 percent of the population. They have full citizenship rights, including health care, education, housing, etc. as well as the RIGHT to VOTE and elect representatives to the Israeli parliament, the Knesset.
Under shari'ah, only muslims are citizens. Everyone else is a dhimmi who must pay a special protection (extortion) tax, the jizya, in order to exist. There are many special rules/restrictions governing the dhimmi class (including subjugation and humiliation), which do not apply to the privileged muslim class.
Laws in western societies are designed to protect the rights, the lives, and the property of minorities from the tyranny of the majority. It is the duty of the state to provide protection from mob rule and violence. Islam, in contrast, encourages outrageous behaviors by muslims, violent responses by muslims to minor offenses, and belligerent, bellicose posturing and actions by muslims whenever anything occurs that "offends" islam.
I don't understand your last sentence except for the word "kufr" - which means "untouchable dirty lowlife unclean lying sobs who are in the same category as fecal matter." I assume you meant this comment for us non-muslims. Mind translating the rest for us non-Arabic speakers?
