Muhammad ibn Abdullah, who died in 632 AD, was the founder of Islam. The most authoritative biography of Muhammad is titled "The Life of Muhammad (Sirat Rasul Allah)" originally written by Muhammad ibn Ishaq around 760 AD. No copy of that book remains, but around 800 AD, Ibn Hisham, a student of Ibn Ishaq reconstructed the biography from fragments and notes that he had collected.
In his own notes, Ibn Hisham made a rather troubling confession -- that he had omitted from the biography "things which it is disgraceful to discuss; matters which would distress certain people." (pg. 691) To calibrate just how disgraceful or distressing those things must have been, here is a sampling of the accounts that Ibn Hisham deemed worthy of including in the biography:
Child Rape: “He married Aisha in Mecca when she was a child of seven and lived with her in Medina when she was nine or ten.” (Muhammad was 52 at the time.) (pg. 792)
Mass Murder of 600-900 Jews: “Then the apostle went out to the market of Medina and dug trenches in it. Then he sent for [the Banu Qurayza Jews] and struck off their heads in those trenches as they were bought out to him in batches. There were 600 or 700 in all, though some put the figure as high as 800 or 900. This went on until the apostle made an end of them.” (pg. 464)
Using Camels to Rip a Woman in Two: Muhammad sent Zayd b. Haritha to avenge the loss of some Muslims’ lives during a previous raid on Wadi’l-Qura. After killing several villagers, they took Umm Qirfa, the wife of Malik, prisoner. They killed her “by putting a rope to her two legs and to two camels and driving them until they rent her in two.” (pg. 665)
Approval of intercession by gods other than Allah: Anxious to attract people to Islam, Muhammad was reciting a verse from Allah, “Have you thought of al-Lat and al-Uzza and Manat the third, the other (all gods of the Quayrish tribe in Mecca).” Then, Satan put on Muhammad’s tongue, “these are the exalted Gharaniq (high flying cranes) whose intercession is approved.” (pg. 166) This verse was later revised after complaints by Muslims that it implied polytheism, and it can be seen in its present form in Surah 53:20.
Muhammad’s unusual death and burial
Given the foregoing sampling of the things Ibn Hisham did include in the biography, the offensive accounts he deleted must have been truly disgusting. While we must look elsewhere for what Ibn Hisham found so disgraceful and troubling in the original biography of Muhammad, we can certainly find evidence even there that something was quite unusual about Muhammad’s death and burial. Sharia Law stipulates that when a Muslim dies, he should be undressed and washed by male relatives or his wives, wrapped in a shroud, and buried immediately after the funeral prayer. (Reliance of the Traveler, Section g.). However, none of this happened in the case of Muhammad.
According to Ibn Hisham’s account, Muhammad died at noon on a Monday. Since he had not named a successor, rather than tend to Muhammad’s burial, his followers locked the door of the house and had a meeting nearby to decide who would be the next caliph. Once Abu Bakr was named the caliph, they returned to their deceased Prophet on Tuesday. Ali ibn Abi Talib (Muhammad’s son-in-law and a future caliph) and some others took charge of washing him. Ibn Hisham observed, “The apostle’s body did not present the appearance of an ordinary corpse.” (pg. 688) Curiously, he did not elaborate.
Hadith collector Abu Dawud recorded this account of what happened next: "We did not know whether we should take off the clothes of the Apostle as we took off the clothes of our dead, or wash him while his clothes were on him. Then a speaker spoke from a side of the house, and they did not know who he was: Wash the Prophet while his clothes are on him. So they stood round the Prophet and washed him while he had his shirt on him. They poured water on his shirt, and rubbed him with his shirt and not with their hands. Aisha used to say: If I had known beforehand about my affair what I found out later, none would have washed him except his wives." (Book 20, Number 3135)
What was it that Muhammad’s favorite wife, nineteen-year-old Aisha, found out later? This is a bit delicate, so we will just quote Ali’s exclamation: "O Prophet, thy penis is erect unto the sky!"* This detail was never mentioned in Ibn Hisham’s rendering of Muhammad’s biography.
Yes, when Muhammad died he suffered from a permanent post-mortem erection, sometimes called “angel lust.” The medical term for the condition is priapism, and it sometimes occurs when people die suddenly by hanging or due to stroke, poisoning, or brain embolisms. This is the same condition that can cause erections “lasting four hours or more” after taking popular prescription medications to treat erectile dysfunction, such as Viagra and Cialis.
So after washing Muhammad through his shirt they plied on three layers of burial garments and put him back on his bed. Then his companions disputed over where to bury the Prophet of Islam. It was finally agreed to bury him directly below his bed. So Wednesday night they started to dig his grave. His wife Aisha didn’t even know about the burial until she heard the sound of pickaxes. Ibn Hisham also reported, “No man acted as imam in the prayers over the apostle." (pg. 688)
Why the secrecy in burying Muhammad inside a house in the middle of the night? Not only was his appearance disgraceful and distressing, but his companions feared disputes would break out over this successor. In fact, the rivalry between Sunni and Shiite factions of Islam began at that moment. Four of the first five caliphs, the “rightly guided” successors to Muhammad, were murdered. Furthermore, his companions feared Muslims would leave Islam when they learned about Muhammad’s death. Ibn Hisham commented, “I have heard that Aisha used to say, ‘When the apostle died the Arabs apostatized and Christianity and Judaism raised their heads and disaffection appeared.’“ (pg. 689) Muhammad’s death prompted the Ridda Wars (or Wars of Apostasy) in which thousands of Muslims died trying to escape from Islam. To this day, Muslims are still trying to leave Islam –an act which is a capital crime in Islam and in no other religion.

This article just reflects on one of the disgraceful things Ibn Hisham claimed to have expunged from Prophet Muhammad's original biography by Ibn Ishaq. There is nothing wrong with that, is any?

It is quite clear your frustration level is rising as it is in direct proportion to the terms "dearest" "dear" "sweetest" etc.. your way of calling someone a name, albeit in a nice way. Sometimes you are on the side of an argument that cannot be one, and I think you are on that side, yet again.

A few types of content were deleted: 1) poems which he quotes that no authority on poetry whom I have met knows of; 2) things which it is disgraceful to discuss; 3) matters which would distress certain people; and 4) such reports as al-Bakka'i told me he could not accept as trustworthy - all these things I have omitted. Type 2 and 3 contents are independent or separate from type 4 contents that you have highlighted. Heb 11:6 " But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."
God is not a task master like Allah and who has predesined every body. He wants people to take decision on their own to make choice because he made man a free moral Agent to decide and shape his destiny by himself.
Those who reject him and fail to acknowledge him despite the clear revelation in the Bible will have themselves to blame.
The true God is not like Allah who despite their deligent worshipping of him by muslim with all its rituality and legality still does he not seem to answer them. He could not give them any reason or promise to live for but he has given them enough reasons for them to die for Allah.
But we don't need to die for the true God because he has already died for us so that we can be saved through faith in the free gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ.

Should faith be a prerequisite for a "god" the "creator" to help ? Is it not absurd ? A human being always helps his/her offspring without being asked for it . A human being generally helps another in great distress or in the case of an accident. This "god" of yours wants human beings to cringe, crawl, scrub their noses in abject surrender and debase oneself like a zombified serf in order to avail any kind of help or succour from this socalled "god" . This "god" of your , especially the monotheistic monster nut expects extreme adulation, pampering so that this mosnter is tranquilised , or else the monster's rage knows no bounds. Can you call this creature anything but a monster that has sprung out of a wicked self-seeking human mind that wanted to get power and pelf by putting the fear of "god" in you literally. The true God never demanded from his creation what he was incapable of doing or demonstrate for them as an example.
He showed love and mercy to the children Israel by delivering them from bondage in Egypt before he demanded love and obedience from them.
He first all revealed his love and mercy to Abraham by given him a miracle child before commanding Abraham to walk in love and in perfection before him. God demonstrated his divine power over all evils of men with signs and wonders which mortals never did before he demanded love and obedience to his commandment.
In the new covenant he first love us and gave his only begotten son as ram some for our sins before he demanded love and obedience from us.
It is a test of this reciprocal love required from us that make faith necessary. If you appreciate what God has done through reading his written revelation the Bible and accept his offer of Salvation by faith, then you are qualify to receive from him the rest of the benefits from him. Your salvation is more important in the sight of God than any other thing in this world that you think of.
The Christian God is not egoistic as you wrongly assumed perhaps you wanted to say Allah.

If your brain is not too small to accommodate the two, you should regard the two statements as complementary. Is because Christ has two nature sometimes when you refer to his human nature you have take time to exlain before a finite mind like yours will understand. That is exaclty what I did in the second statement by stating that though he was full God he die only and his human nature permit.

It's interesting how Muslims claim that the only real way to understand the Quran is by Arabic...But if that is a fact, then Muslims who do not read or speak Arabic, are getting their Islam from another language translation (English), which is wrong or incomplete...How then are they in any position to adequately defend Islam, when they are getting their knowledge from a fraud? How can a fraud be the word of Allah? Also, why is it that many people who do speak, read and write Arabic, also have the idea that Islam is an evil ideology?

The Quran never states 5 times and in fact if read properly you can discern it is 3 times the three salat in the Quran, they are: Fajr (dawn), Wusta (middle) and Esha (night), period. "Then is it other than Allah I should seek as judge while it is He who has revealed to you the Book explained in detail?" And those to whom We gave the Scripture know that it is sent down from your Lord in truth, so never be among the doubters." Or in simple terms the Quran is it.

I know it sounds strange... me agreeing with a malam ... but he is right in saying Qur'an only describes 3 salats and not more ... hadeeth describes the five salat not Quran ...that is why Most Muslims believe in hadeeth and Quran because for them to say hadeeth is lies ...that will wipe out half the Islamic tradition that they have been practicing all their lives .

Brother I am a pure Quranist, 3days is what is outline in the Quran, however sometimes I may pray 4,5,6 times a day. It depends on my mood and my need for guidance. The rest of the posters after you, with the exception of Fineliving who always seems to have composure, all the others want to marginalize the topic and revert to bullying tactics, calling names, using vulgarities etc. Very typical when an immature person is losing a discussion.
Fineliving i can tell you that in mashta many of my friends have gone and done so safely just an fyi in case your family is mobile and looking.

Adam, Ibrahim, Nuh, Idris, Musa, Isaac, Isa and a few others who told him : " We salute you, you the first and the last, Oh Gatherer of men" ...and Jibril added : "We salute you, Oh you the first, because you will be the first person who, on Resurrection Day, will come out of his grave; and the last, because you are the Seal and the last prophet. You are a gatherer of men in the meaning that it belongs to you to gather everyone for the resurrection and as such the whole community will resurrect." In this dream, Muhammad was instructed by Allah to tell his followers that they were to offer prayers 50 times per day. However, at the urging of Musa, Muhammad returns to Allah and it was eventually reduced to 10 times, and then 5 times per day as this was the destiny of Muhammad and his people. Buraq then transported Muhammad back to Makkah. The full version of this most memorable moment has been preserved in "The Bokhari" (Vol.15, p.3615) one of the Holy Islamic Scriptures.

To me the Hadiths are more to be trusted than the Quran. At least the Hadiths are the testimonies of eye witnesses but Quran is imagination of one man Mohammed.
My only worry with those who believe in the sunah of the prophet is that can they truly do all that their prophet did?

That is ok but why do you think this analogy does not apply to Christian concept of Trinity if the three are all serving the same purpose. If the three cannot be three chief executives why do you say they three in one concept are 3 Gods?

Now try to watch your thoughts continuously.Just observe your thoughts.Leave it whether it is wrong or right.Whatever the thoughts are coming accept as it is.

If Moses had not intervened and the prayers reduced to 5, imaging even 10 time prostrating ass ups daily. Already the 5 time’s daily thing has made Muslims the most unproductive human on this planet earth with the most valuable of their time being wasted in ritual bowing down to Allah (The big idol of kaaba) .
So a 5 minute Prayer is is making people unproductive? Not those who are taking 10 smoking breaks or the Unions who force 2 breaks plus lunch on people? Islam is a curse to any nation, any people, any day and any time.
Where does it say in the Quran you have to lock women indoors and that they cannot work? Someone should have told my wives as both work 50+ hours per week at their jobs. In addition in the west up until the 1960's it was very prevalent to have the woman stay at home and raise the kids, while men worked. Last time I checked the 40's thru the 60's were the most productive growth times in the Wests history. So you might want to look beyond the faleshoods you are taking for truths before trying to make an argument

[ I just heard this morning .. a fresh killing spree targeted poor families who has nothing to do with anything to just teach a lesson for others ... they actually killed them in sacrifice style like sacrificing sheep in Eeed ... I heard the streets of the village could be seen coloerd all red from the amount of Muslim blood spilled ...]

There is no other Holy Qur'an - it is unique. It is not dependant on any other book - anywhere. Ther is no such book that could be the same as the Holy Qur'an - this is the true meaning of the word UNIQUE. One version was revealed over 1400 years ago - and the same version exists today - and will continue to exist until the end of time. The Holy Qur'an is the word of Allah (the exalted). This is UNIQUE.
Allah (the exalted) is ONE GOD. He is UNIQUE. He is not dependant on ANYTHING. He existed before "anything" existed and for this reason, everything is dependant upon his will.
It is not intellectual to use examples of cricketers - maybe you like cricket and therefore using example of Cricket.

I remember trying to tell Reed about some of these Ayas and he tried to tell me Quran mostly came in poetry style so imagery was important to tell the story of earth ... he phrase it differently but you get the idea

Moslims always try so many tricks to claim that the scientific truths now we know are there in the Quran too- not in the direct way, but the opposite is not stated. For example, the question of earth's shape. All muslims will claim that Quran does not mention that the earth is flat.( It is a wrong notion as we have seen). Why then Quran couldn't mention that the earth is round? Is there any verse in Quran which says that the earth is round? Likewise, so many scientific truths and inventions man has known or made later on could have been foretold or suggested by Allah in his book of revelations called Quran. For example, he could have said that a time will come when man will travel through the air (aeroplane) or man can see his counterpart in another continent ( television) or talk to him ( telephone) or simply will be able to exchange their ideas. Allah was even unaware of the extent of earth, its continents, how many oceans were there etc. etc. Why Allah had failed to give any accurate information about many of the things we know today is a very valid question. The answer is only one thing i.e Allah was ignorant of these things. Allah does not seem to know anything more than a 7th century man knew. All other things he has stated in Quran is the fruits of his fertile imaginations which were all wrong and had no basis whatsoever. This is the plain truth, though muslim zombies will never admit it.

Let me clear the what do I mean BY ONE OR UNIQUE word. Throughout my conversations I am saying ONE is dependent on TWO,THREE OR FOUR. It means One book/Object/Thing/Imagination dependent on many books/obvjects/things/imaginations/ and out of which u r choosing.
How can u say that any book is the best one/Unique one. THE best is a comparision…. UNIQUE is also a comparision..For comparision , other books are required in order to existence( As agreed by u). This is simple meaning of ONE …..OR UNIQUE…..
Please Please donot paste the sentences/words of any book….Hold on….My point of argument is only the definition of ONE and UNIQUE of anything and nothing else. If we are not able to understand what is ONE ..or WHAT IS UNIQUE then forget about the GOD..AND ETC….

It is about uniqueness of book HOLY QURAAN....Not about u…..TRY TO GRIP OF YOURSELF….this is the meaning…..
When u read any book whether it is HOLY or UNHOLY(If there is HOLY.. They are only guarding ASH..Forget about the fire..
That is the reason why I have not initiated the dialogue between us about the content of the quraan or GOD….It will lead nothing..If I will say something , it will heart u. Now feeling bad or feeling good.. is all about dependent on your ego state. Whenever u r carrying ash of the fire …U r still have the ego…Whatever I was talking…those are the state when u will achieve egoless…The condition of BEING ONE OR UNIQUENESS only achieved when u have achieved the state of zero level of ego…Otherwise u keep on conditioning yourself….All the content of any book only u feed your ego…No knowledge or experience….This is very sad state of any religion.

I have to go to hotel LEE MERIDIAN....There are various ways to reach that hotel......various sign boards r there..which help me to go to the destination....but so called religious people hold their signboards...and guard their sign board ....and forget to go destination....they even bother to go their...and create mayhem on this beautiful planet...They forget that if it is true then whether anybody/nobody agrees or not...it will remain true...True does not depend logic...

I think san is trying to say that the word "UNIQUE" doesn't really tell us much of anything. It could mean "uniquely" awful. So awful, in fact, that there is nothing to compare with it in its UNIQUE awfulness. For example:
The Qur'an is UNIQUELY awful as literature goes. So many have written so much that is way way better.
