The greatest danger is a closed mind and a finger-on-the-trigger. The minds are closing all over Europe; rather late in the day, a small resistance emerges. American minds have also been shutting down for many years. For example, one is really not allowed to talk about race or religion (gender is fair game–look at all the photos of naked women that still surround us). One cannot say “black” or “African-American” without raising a storm. One dare not say “Islam” or “Muslim” without raising an even bigger storm.
Americans (students, professors, journalists, film stars, media talking heads, left-liberal bloggers) are especially sensitive to the wrongs done to the Palestinians, Arabs, and Muslims–and, no doubt, wrongs have been done. But these same Americans are a lot less sensitive to the sorrows, nay, the atrocities, that these very groups (Palestinians, Arabs, Muslims) have inflicted upon their very own and upon all infidels, for 1400 years.
Try to talk about this, try to raise the issue of Islam’s long history of colonialism, genocide, and gender and religious apartheid and you will quickly be demonized as a “racist” or as an “Islamophobe.” Google notes 616,000 references to “Islamophobia.” What is really going on? Why is “racism” not a good enough word to describe prejudice towards people with different skin colors, if that indeed is the case? Or is “Islamophobia” more complicated, or more specific in terms of Muslims and Islam?
Lorna Saltzman, a really good writer, an environmentalist, and once a Green Party Presidential candidate, has written a tongue-in-cheek Test Guide for all those who are worried about their own racism or Islamophobia. She writes:

There is no such thing as "Islamophobia". Neither is it a medical or irrational mental disorder. This newly minted word is purely a cunning invention by sly Islamic apologists to unjustly denigrate and silence all those brave people who DON'T believe that Islam is the greatest and best religion in the whole wide world and therefore it should be imposed on everybody for their own good. Being a non-believing muslim, the life is tough for muslims who want to leave this faith. Now maximum non-muslims know about Islam and its immoral and violent teachnings and cruel prophet, thus they despise anyone with muslim name. While its intellectually and morally suffocating to live in ghettoes of muslims. The muslims who want to leave islam are in problem and unfortunately had to live dual life. Islam is like drugs , once in its very difficult to come out even you have doubt on many teachings. In this way he is able to divert the battlefield time and again to what these other religions have on faults/ flaws/ shortcomings. But if we by and large acquiesce that this in part is indeed so, we can then compare back to Islam. By pointing out that we have a constant source of information, by FFI/ IW and others, that Islam IS NOT THE BEST religion, NOT BETTER than any other religion.
And as first goal this could be enough, because if no religion is on total or aggregate better than any other, no religion may have special privileges, advantages over the others, especially not in Islamic countries, or in the choice of religion of free persons.
And it is only fair and honest to try to promote equal rights/ opportunities/ power etc for all religions, under a democratic system, everywhere. Of course it is enough for now to only have the intention, because this takes a lot of time.

Therefore saying why blame Islam itself is as silly as a druggie or alcoholic saying why blame cocaine or alcohol for their actions. Therefore by their logic we should understand "true" alcohol or cocaine and not get doped.
Compared to Islamophobia, I prefer Islamo-opposer as this is more accurate about how I feel about Islam.

We muslims are accepted and respected in the West.Mosques are springing up all over Europe(even at taxpayers expense).Converts,mainly white educated middle class professionals are embracing the banner of Islam daily.

However,when you consider the caliber of many of the crusading zealots,it`s not suprising they`re found wanting, always coming up short.
