Imran Firasat, a Pakistani Ex-Muslim living in Spain, has just released a new movie on Islamic Jihad. The movie illustrates the practice of Jihad as followed by devout Muslims and its manifestations all around the globe. Below is my review and judgement about this movie. The movie itself is easily accessible on YOUTUBE and can also be viewed on the websites FaithFreedom.org and IslamWatch.org.

Review

The movie starts with Osama bin Laden’s speech in an Afghanistan mosques to inspire them to take up Jihad and attack America, and subsequently the scenes of the 9/11 attacks of World Trade Center. It also talks about the hatred of Jews embedded in the Qur’an and how Jihad is viewed as a solution to Islamic hatred toward the Jews in particular, and toward non-Muslims in general.

I do not want to spoil the movie for those who have not watched it by mentioning all the events cited in the movie, but rather will talk in general. The movie talks about Islamic Jihadi attacks against Muslims and against non-Muslims in all continents. It also talks about abuses against Jews, Christians, and apostates. All such evil is done in the name of Jihad. The movie does a great job in motivating the mind of the Muslim viewer to see that Jihad can be violent acts against other Muslims. It also motivates the Muslim viewer’s mind to realize that the makers of the movie are not against the Muslim person, but rather against the ideology of Jihad itself.

Jihad and its Foundations

The movie, in my view, did a superb job in showing the viewer the relation between Jihad in action, and its theoretical foundations found in the Qur’an. It was done in a way that I believe is non-threatening to the Muslim viewer, but at the same time, showing him that the Qur’an is the main culprit in the horrible jihadi actions of Muslims all around the globe. Jihad, after all, as the movie shows, is an integral part of the Islamic belief system rooted in its book; the Qur’an

The movie ends up showing that the Jihad is there because of Islam; one Islam that is. The movie supports this last point with saying from famous religious political Muslim leaders. Claiming that radical Muslim do Jihad and “normal” Muslims do not is actually a fallacy. There is one form of Islam and that is that.

Conclusion

It is my humble opinion that this movie is a very good one. It is done with truth in mind as evident that truthful respectable authors and researchers of Islam, like Abul Kasem and M A Khan, amongst others, were consulted in this work. The movie was done on low-budget. This is a great way to promote truth about Islam on the web. There is a need for other websites and Facebook pages to mirror the video, or add a link to it. There is a need for other individual and groups to make videos about Muhammad and his life events, represented in a truthful manner, on the web. I hope many others will follow suit on Imran Firasat’s creativity, and post their own videos on Islam. It is a fact that we know how Muhammad lived. Most Muslims do not know how much evil this “prophet” brought to the world. It is time to have truthful low-budget short movies about Muhammad and Islam on the web. One honest people know the truth about Muhammad, they will leave Islam.

One drawback is that I fear for the safety of Imran Firasat. But again, it is his choice to use his actual name despite many dangers. However, others need not do that. Fake names are wonderful and will do the trick for anyone.

In short, this is a commendable effort by the many people who were involved in it. Imran promises a forthcoming movie about the life of Aisha, the child-wife of the prophet. I can’t wait... and I hope many others follow suit to Imran’s effort and make short movies about Islam.
