Islam Under Scrutiny by Ex-Muslims

Statistical Miracles of the Qur’an

The Qur’an is no more than a hate speech in many of its parts. It threatens mortal humans with physical hell fire that burns your skin with excruciating pain. Then when your skin is all burned away, Allah, the Islamic lord of the rings, will give you new skin so that he can burn you some more. What a sadistic deity. The cycle of burning is continuous and infinite. The Qur’an teaches Muslims not to befriend Christians and Jews. It teaches to take the Hindus by the sword. The dhimmi status was extended to them later in Islamic history, and for practical reasons. The Qur’an is a book that is replete with hate to other people. But, alas, its cult members insist that it is a miraculous book. Look at this site.

This site lists some “statistical miracles” in the Qur’an (and who said Muslim Ulema are not creative and funny at the same time!!). Now, by profession, I use statistics a lot. So, such “miracles”, aside from giving me a good laugh while drinking my miraculous Qur’anic wine, are indeed intriguing. One of the basic things we do in statistics is to check the facts. Let us put those claimed miracles down for the purpose of ascertaining the truth about them. I do need to remind the reader that a miracle must constitute a “violation” of a natural law(s). This is the definition of a miracle. So, such claimed “statistical” miracles are not miracles to start with. But, I am playing with the Muslims their Islamic “statistical” game. Let me quote from this site, then I will move to their silly claims of “miracles”:

The Miracles of the Quran will never end. There will never be a time where mankind can fully take in the knowledge that is in this holy book. It is a miracle to all mankind, the word of God (Allah S.W.T.). There is no value that one can set to the words of the creator. It is a treasure of which guides those that want to succeed in this life and the hereafter.

I hope that it is clear to the reader that the above quote shows that the authors of this site assume that the Qur’an will always have miracles. It is just that we need to look for them. How nice!

It seems that Allah likes to play cat and mouse with humans. When he wants the fun to go to a higher level he plays hide and seek with us. The above quote is, in all honesty, worthless talk. But it does give us a glimpse of how Muslims think. It is not the case that the Qur’an is miraculous. It is not. But rather that they believe it is. Humans just have to “discover” such miracles. Do you get the dogma here?

If someone believes unicorns exist as actual biological living beings somewhere in our planet, what evidence can you give him that will make him abandon his belief? There isn’t any. No matter how much area you cover in the land to show that Unicorns do not actually exist, a person who believes they are real will always tell you that they must exist somewhere else. It is a trap. Because of this example I know I can’t win with those Muslims. Even if I show that all of their claims are false, they will still say “even if Ibn Kammuna is correct, and what we thought were miracles are not in fact miracles, there must be some other statistical miracles in the Qur’an”.

You see, you can not falsify the claims of those people. They are “zombies in trans” so to speak. Such people are idiots without knowing that they are idiots. In this sense they are “bad idiots”. This is the worst kind. A “good idiot” is different. Such idiot changes his/her mind when contrary evidence is presented. A “bad idiot” is one who is not willing to change his mind no matter what. You see, Abul Kasem has shown us a huge number of contradictions in the Qur’an, Mumin Salih has shown us that scientific miracles of the Qur’an are no more than wishful thinking by Martians and Ali Sina has shown us that such claims about the QurE2an are mere lunacy. Yet, those people claim there must be “statistical” miracles in Qur’an. Well, let us see what those distinguished Islamic pundits found in the Qur’an. Here is an example of their “statistical” miracles:

Study conducted by Dr. Tariq Al-Suwaidan. A Well known scholar from the Muslim Brotherhood, Ikhwan Al-muslimoon. Islamic Gateway ummah.net brings you a glimpse of this study.

Word/Meaning /Number of times Mentioned in the Quran

  • Al-Dunya This world 115

  • Al-Akhira The hereafter 115

  • Word/Meaning Mentioned in the Quran

  • Al-Mala’ikah Angles 88

  • Al-Shayateen Satan 88

  • Word/Meaning Mentioned in the Quran

  • Al-Hayat Life 145

  • Al-Maout Death 145

  • Word/Meaning Mentioned in the Quran

  • Al-Rajul Man 24

  • Al-Mar’ha Women 24

  • Word/Meaning Mentioned in the Quran

  • Al-Shahr Month 12

  • Word/Meaning Mentioned in the Quran

  • Al-Yahom Day 365

  • Word/Meaning Mentioned in the Quran

  • Al-bahar Sea 32

  • Al-bar Land 13

If we add up the total words of both “sea” and “land” we get 45. Now if we do a simple calculation:

32/45 X 100% = 71.11111111%

13/45 X 100% = 28.88888888%

Above is what we know today, the percentages of Water (Sea) and Land in the world. Yet another miracle in the Quran.

I would like to draw the reader’s attention that the researcher who conveyed those results is a “Muslim Brotherhood” member. This actually disqualifies him, in my view, as an

objective researcher. Those folks have one goal: to Islamize the world by whatever means possible. Yes, those people will lie through their teeth to make the Qur’an look miraculous. I am sure the above researcher looked at a huge list of words in the Qur’an until he ended up with what we see here. The other words he used searching for a “statistical miracle” did not work for him, so he just ignored them, and came up with what we see above. Amazing! In any case, if you are riding a donkey, the Qibla can be anywhere. So, let us ride this donkey and see where that leads us. I do need to caution the reader that this person may have done the search in Arabic. But I will use “Yusuf Ali” translations, and for simplicity, I will tackle only the “Miracles” about “Man” and “Woman” and “Month”. The reason is that those numbers are relatively small, and can be checked fairly quickly. Even if we do the search in English, if there is a “statistical” miracle, our numbers should be very close to what is stated above by this Muslim researcher.

One comment before doing my search, please note this researcher used “Man” and “Women”: One would expect “Man” and “Woman” instead of “Women”. This is an example of the selectivity that Muslim apologetics do to prove something that is not there. In any case, here are the numbers I got from Yusuf Ali’s translation. I am also using different variations of the word because of the nature of the Arabic language:

  • Man: 226

  • The man: 167

  • Men: 498

  • The Men:451

  • Woman: 29

  • The woman: 22

  • Women: 91

  • The women: 84

  • Month: 7

  • Months: 14

The reader is invited to check my work. Here is the site to do the Qur’anic search.

So, if our numbers are not even close to this “scholar’s” claims, how come he “found” the “miracles” and we did not. The answer is really simple: there are no miracles. What this person did was probably do a search in Arabic. Those of us who know Arabic, know that each word in Arabic can take many forms depending on its location in the sentence, its “root” or “origin”, its temporal “tense” ..etc. That so-called researcher did some selectivity till he “found” a “Miracle”. I salute him and tell him: Dr. Suwaidan, You are the biggest liar there is. You are a disgrace to any kind of “genuine research”. You see, in real life I am a researcher who uses a lot of statistics and statistical tests and analysis. I take raw data and try to see what it has to offer. I do not try to make the data fit my “scheme” or my “world view”. People like Dr. Tariq Al-Suwaidan, the man who offered us the above “statistical miracles” are no more than a disgrace to science and research and a disgrace to humanity and its endeavor to find the truth about things. What a shame! Deceiving people is just pure evil.

Another point I would like to draw the reader’s attention to is that one can find “coincidences”, or, as Islamists claim, “miracles” in any book. Look at the search above. The word “Months” came up 7 times. The word “Month” came up 14 times. The ratio is 2 to 1. Now, in Islam, a testimony of two women in court is worth the testimony of one man; a ratio of 2 to 1. Is this a “statistical” Miracle? Not a chance. Its coincidence. Life is full of such coincidences.

One final point I want to mention is this: Dr. Suwaidan’s “miracles” do not withstand critical scrutiny. Just as an example, let us say that the words “Man” and “Women” did in fact appear in the Qur’an 24 times each. Is this a miracle? The answer is simply no. A miracle is a unique event. What if both words appeared 25 times? 26 times? 8 times? I hope the reader can see the trick here. There are no such statistical miracles in the Qur’an. At best, there may be some wording coincidences in the Qur’an. But such coincidences can be in any other book. In fact, if you take any book whatsoever, and have a search engine to search its words, you can rest assured that you’ll find some coincidences, with regard to the number of times a word appears in that book. This is normal. There is nothing miraculous about that. As an example, this article contains the word “will” 12 times, and the word “that” appeared three times as much; 36 times. Is this a miracle? Certainly not. But I bet if something similar appeared in the Qur’an, many Muslims may rejoice in seeing another great Qur’anic miracle that validates the faith.

If The Islamic War Manual, sometimes called the Qur'an, is so enlightening, why are all 57 Islamic countries Third World Countries? If The Islamic War Manual is so enlightening, why did Muslims have to wait for Christian and Jewish inventions and medicines to get ahead a bit? If The Islamic War Manual is so enlightening, why are Muslim women treated as second class citizens? If The Islamic War Manual is so enlightening, why did false prophet, pedophile, child molester, slave owner, wife beater, rapist of a little girl, rapist of slave women, polygamist, whoremonger, murderer Muhammad teach that the earth is flat? If The Islamic War Manual is so enlightening, why do Muslims stone women to death for adultery? If The Islamic War Manual is so enlightening, why in some Muslim countries, are male Muslim perverts allowed to "marry" little girls as young as eight years old and then allowed to rape them on their "wedding" day? If The Islamic War Manual so enlightening, why do Muslim perverts practice Female Genital Mutilation on little girls? If The Islamic War Manual is so enlightening, why does this filthy Muslim book teach pure hatred? Example:"O ye who believe, fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty,"(Sura 9 Verse 123).

The exitence of this many muslims, who never use their brains is the greatest statitical miracle of all times. In future when islam will not be there, citizens will be wondering how once upon a time, a section of people never used their brains.

A question?? 10,000 years ago in the Ice Age a lot of water was locked up in the poles, Indonesia was one land mass, you could walk across the English channel, you could walk across to sri lanka from India. There was more land than today. in the future there could less land because of global warming. In the history of the earth there have been times when the whole earth was frozen for 100 of thousands of years i.e technically no land. So if the land / sea ratio is a miracle, that to me proves that in the best case scenario, the Koran is only valid at a particular time and place, which is now and not for all eternity.

The same sort of statistical "magic" can be done with any book. The Christians do it with the Bible (and also the Jews). It can be done with Shakespear, War and Peace, or any other book, even the physics book sitting on my desk!

If I am not mistaken, the Koran never speaks of the greatest empire on earth then in existence, i.e. the Chinese T'ang Dynasty (618-907) and Christ never spoke of the greatest empire on earth during his time, i.e., the Chinese Han Dynasty (206 B.C. - 220 A.D.). If these guys were prophets and had inside info from the Big Guy in the Sky then shouldn't they have at least known what was going on at the time they were alive? Also, great comment, Philip! I hope I may reprint it on my own site if you and the webmaster do not disagree.

The Roman Empire had more influence to Western civilization than the Chinese Han Dynasty.

I think Dean is pointing to a very exciting problem. If the quran is a revealation from god, why did it only "reveal" knowledge already available to anybody such as the stories of Adam, Abraham, Moses etc. which were already rendered in the bible but nothing new. This is also the explanation why there are so many quran hypes nowadays from alleged scietific miracles to statistical miracles, number miracles and whatsoever. Muslims are desperately looking for such miracles because there should some, indeed, supposed the quran was written by god.
